Success story of a person reaching Canada Via Ethiopia

People are thinking that its a bit risk to go to Canada via Ethiopia. But there are more success stories of people reaching the Canada via 3rd countries like Maldives, Dubai, Cairo, Egypt or Ethiopia.

Here is one of the success story :

  1. From Delhi to Ethiopia via Qatar{Doha}- 17th may 2021.
  2. Flight costed me around 66k from New Delhi to Ethiopia (Addis Ababa).
  3. Ethiopia to Toronto NON STOP- 74K (45 minutes of refueling break).
  4. Hotel-10-15k.
  5. Covid RT PCR Test- 60(Results within 24 hours)-96 USD (Report within 6-8 hours).
  6. Food-50-100 USD(Totally depends upon a person).
  7. Visa-52 USD.
  8. Visa on arrival is also there for Indian passport holder but it’s a long queue.

Day 1 :

IGI Airport- Reached airport around 11 pm 16th may 2021 as my flight was around 3:20-25 am
Qatar airways check in initially said we were not allowed and asked us to wait.

Even though I had a return ticket they saw my passport and said you’ve a Canadian visa that to student so we’ll have to confirm with the Canadian immigration first.

(THEY DIDN’T HAD TO CHECK MY DOCUMENTS OR ANYTHING AS IT WAS EITHER THE ROLE OF INDIAN IMMIGRATION OR ETHIOPIAN IMMIGRATION). After 2 hours they allowed us to check in.

Indian immigration didn’t asked me a single question.

Security check was same like always.

Boarded for the flight and reached Doha after 3-4 hours.

Doha airport is good so you won’t have any problem staying there for 14.5 hours.

Reached Ethiopia around 12:00-12:30am (Ethiopian timing) now 18-05-2021
Immigration was pretty good. Just asked me for my Visa, passport and hotel reservation and stamped my passport.

Reached my hotel at 1:50 -2:00 am. My hotel was like 1 km away from the airport.

It costed me 9921 for 2 nights 17-18 and please don’t book Empire hotel.

18-05-2021: (Day-2)

Called the reception and asked them to book a covid RT PCR Test for me.

They charged me 60 USD as I was not in a hurry so I didn’t went for the 6-8 hours report.

The sample collector came around 11am and collected my sample and said you’re tested positive you’ll get a mail otherwise you’ll get the hard-copy of your report tomorrow morning.

19-05-2021 : (Day-3)

Received my report around 10:50 and it came back NEGATIVE!!!!

CHECKED OUT AROUND 12:30 as I was worried about the news I was getting that people were not allowed to board.

Reached Bole International Airport terminal 2 at 1 pm

⁃    The Ethiopian airline manager asked us to wait for some time as there was some officer coming to check our documents.
⁃    Around 3:30 a guy started scanning my documents and in 2 minutes I was allowed to check in
⁃    Check in went pretty smoothly.
⁃    Immigration officer didn’t even checked my documents , Just my passport and that was it.
⁃    Security check was as usual.
⁃    NOW IT’S 6:15 PM OUT HERE IN ETHIOPIA AND I’M WAITING FOR MY FLIGHT (10:50 PM)

FOR NOW THAT’S IT.

If you have anything to ask me just give me a day to process everything and I surely will try to help you out plan your indirect route….

Update on Airindia flights regarding travel to canada

Update on Airindia flights regarding travel to Canada

As you all know that the international flights have been cancelled by all the countries upon India due to the rise in covid-19 cases. The flights cancelled until may 31st of 2021.
But there is a miscommunication going-on that the flights of Air-Canada has been cancelled till June 22nd 2021.

Now the Big question is from when  will-be  Air-India flights gonna operate to the Canada country.

From the tweets in the twitter from the people what air-India is thinking that they will be operating the flights only after June 22nd 2021 - July 4th 2021. After these days only maximum the flights will start to run.

Official statement about the flight operations are not yet informed by Air-India.

Here people are asking air-India about when will the flights start, then we got the response as that as the information they get from officials we will inform you.

So, easily understood that the flight ban may continue till 1 month i.e till June 22nd 2021 at least just like Air-Canada has done.

Air India to begin operations :
Air India will begin operating its flight services from London to Mumbai from May 17. However, the national carrier will not be operating on May 18, 23, and 30.

Here the confusion is that Air-India has released one post on twitter regarding RT-PCR Test for all the passengers who wants to travel to other countries have to show these report with QR-Code !

By this post people are in dilemma that whether their flights are operational from may 22nd or is it rescheduled to other dates.

People are not able to book the tickets till June 1st 2021, as they are getting these errors.

(This is the latest update by Air-India on twitter as of May 19th 2021 11.11 pm IST)

Ban on international passenger flights :
All commercial passenger flight movement had been banned in March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic initially struck India. After a two-month ban, domestic flights began to resume while international passenger flights have remained banned.

Earlier, the Centre had extended the ban on international commercial passenger flights until May 31, 2021. However, these restrictions do not apply to international all-cargo flights. The government is yet to make a decision on the resumption of international passenger flights. India currently has a bilateral air bubble agreement with 27 countries, which are also exempt from international flights.

Lets Hope for the best ! Stay Home - Stay Safe !
